When you’re on the move outdoors, finding your exact location is no problem using your phone’s built-in GPS. However, indoors, the GPS signals get to weak to be of any use. Luckily, there are several ways to solve this problem.
There are a number of technologies that can help finding your position indoors. WiFi triangulation, BLE beaconing technology, sensor fusion platforms and geomagnetic field fingerprinting are probably your best options. We’ve got experience in using all of these, and there is no clear answer as to which technology is best. They all come with their pros and cons, and it depends on the use case what technology we recommend. We see ourselves as a positioning-agnostic service that can work with more or less any positioning provider, and we take pride in advising our customers the best fit for their needs and budget.
Regardless of which positioning service you choose; We offer a blue-dot experience in MazeMap with a seamless transition from outdoor to indoor navigation. The blue dot update as you move along the route, and the blue dot can also snap to the pathway for a smoother wayfinding experience.
